Copyright & Content Removal

Custom content is the result of many hours of work by creators in the Sims community. We take their rights seriously, and this page explains how SimsViewer.com handles ownership, uploads and removal requests.

Who owns the content on this site

All custom content shown on SimsViewer.com remains the property of its creator. Uploading a file to the site does not transfer ownership of it, and we do not claim any rights to creators' work. The Sims and related names are trademarks of Electronic Arts Inc. SimsViewer.com is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Electronic Arts or Maxis.

What uploaders agree to

Before a file can be uploaded, the uploader must confirm that they created it or have the creator's permission to share it. Uploading someone else's work without permission, including content that is sold or shared only with paying supporters, is not allowed on SimsViewer.com. Creators decide whether an item can be downloaded from the site, and they can edit or delete their items at any time.

If your work was uploaded without your permission

If you are the creator of an item on SimsViewer.com, or you act for the creator, and you want it removed, you can do either of the following:

Please include your name, an email address where we can reach you, the link to the item on SimsViewer.com, and a link to your original work (for example your Patreon, Tumblr or shop page) so that we can confirm who the creator is. A short explanation of what you would like us to do is enough.

What happens next

We review every request personally. While we check it, we may hide the item from public view. If we confirm that the request comes from the rightful owner, we remove the item, together with its download, its 3D preview and its page. We aim to deal with requests within a few days and will reply to the email address you gave us. If a request is unclear, we may ask for more information before acting.

If you think an item was removed by mistake

If your own work was removed and you believe that was an error, write to [email protected] and explain why. We will look at it again.

Reporting other problems

If you find content that is harmful, misleading or against our rules, or a file that is not what it claims to be, tell us at [email protected]. Accounts that repeatedly upload content they do not have the right to share may be suspended.
