About SimsViewer.com

SimsViewer.com is a free 3D viewer for custom content (CC) for The Sims 4. It lets you look at a hair, an outfit, a piece of furniture or a pattern from every angle, in its real colours, before you put it in your game.

Why we built it

Choosing custom content has always been a bit of a gamble. A thumbnail shows one angle, often with the creator's lighting and a pose that hides the back of the item. You download the file, install it, and only then find out that the hem looks different from behind, or that the swatch you wanted is not in the package. SimsViewer.com exists to remove that guesswork. Every item on the site is a real .package file, and the model you see is read directly from that file, not drawn from a picture.

How it works

When a creator uploads a .package file, the site reads the 3D geometry and the textures stored inside it, checks that the file is valid, and builds an interactive preview. Visitors can then:

Files that do not contain any 3D model, such as pure recolours or tuning mods that only reuse a mesh from the game, cannot be previewed, so the upload form tells creators when that is the case.

For creators

A free creator account gives you your own portfolio page, a readable link for every item that you can share on Tumblr, Patreon, Discord or anywhere else, and statistics showing how many people looked at and downloaded your work. You stay in control: you decide whether people can download an item, and you can edit or delete anything you have uploaded at any time. If you are the original creator of something that appears on the site and you would like it removed, every item page has a Request removal button, and our copyright page explains the process.

Frequently asked questions

Is SimsViewer.com free?

Yes. Browsing, previewing and uploading are free. The site may show advertising in the future to cover the cost of running it.

Do I need an account to look at items?

No. Anyone can browse and rotate models. You only need an account to upload your own custom content.

Which files can I upload?

Sims 4 .package files that contain a 3D model: clothing, hair, shoes, accessories, build and buy objects, and floor or wall patterns. Each file can be up to the size limit shown on the upload page.

Why can't I see a 3D model for some items?

Some packages simply do not contain one. Recolours, makeup, skin details, poses and gameplay mods rely on a model that already exists in the game or in another package, so there is nothing to display. In that case the page shows the catalog picture and the colour swatches instead.

Is it safe to download from here?

Every upload must be a valid .package file, and the site refuses damaged files and other file types. As always, only install custom content from creators you trust, keep a backup of your saves, and never run .exe or .bat files that claim to be custom content.

How do I install what I download?

Extract the download, copy the .package files into Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 / Mods and enable custom content in the game options. Our installation guide explains every step and what to do when an item does not appear.

Who owns the content?

The creators. Everything uploaded to SimsViewer.com remains the property of the person who made it. Uploaders confirm that they created the content or have permission to share it. Read more on our copyright page.

Is SimsViewer.com connected to Electronic Arts?

No. SimsViewer.com is an independent community project. The Sims is a trademark of Electronic Arts Inc., and this site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Electronic Arts or Maxis.
